Kathleen Doucet, Practicum Student
Kathleen received her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Dallas Baptist University, and is currently pursuing her Master’s in Professional Counseling at Dallas Baptist University. Kathleen has a passion for providing compassionate and trauma-informed care from a Biblical worldview, integrating both clinical training and the truth of Scripture in her work with clients.
Kathleen’s professional background includes working with adolescent girls in a residential treatment setting, children impacted by abuse and neglect, and foster families navigating the unique challenges of the child welfare system. Through these experiences, Kathleen has developed a deep passion for walking alongside children and adolescents navigating trauma, anxiety, grief, emotional dysregulation, family instability and conflict, and difficult life transitions. She especially enjoys supporting foster parents as they navigate the unique challenges and joys of fostering and desires to help caregivers feel equipped and supported.
Kathleen seeks to walk alongside people while pointing them to Jesus as the ultimate source of wisdom, hope, and healing. She desires that each person who enters her office would come to see their story in light of the truth and beauty of the Gospel and grow in wisdom to faithfully navigate the challenges they face.
Outside of work, Kathleen enjoys crafting, being outside, reading, strength training, and spending time with friends and her labradoodle, Lainey. Kathleen worships and serves at The Village Church.
